Jama Masjid, one of the historical sites of the country, boasts of many historical events and Yadavas inside it. Jama Masjid was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the year 1656. This mosque in Old Delhi is made of red and transition stones. It took 6 years and about 10 lakh rupees to build this mosque. North and South gates can be used to enter Jama Masjid While the eastern gate is open only on Fridays. It is popular about this gate that the Sultan used to enter Jama Masjid through this gate. Jama Masjid has 11 arches the middle one is my biggest. On top of which the white and black Sanganer adorned gung was closed. Delhi Jama Masjid is the largest mosque in India built by Shah Jahan near the Taj Mahal and the Red Fort. It is organized every year to offer morning prayers to thousands of people on this auspicious occasion. This mosque is so big that 25000 people can offer Namaz together in its courtyard. Non-Muslims are not allowed inside the mosque during Namaz inside this mosque. Jama Masjid is located in the old part of Delhi. It is called Chandni Chowk and is surrounded by beautiful local Mughal creations. It took 6 years to build Jama Masjid with a cost of 10 lakh rupees and 5 lakh workers. Jama Masjid is a wonderful creation its purity can be felt. 121 serials are required to take the meetings to the entrance of the mosque.

History Of Jama Masjid

Jama Masjid was commissioned on 23rd July 1656. When Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan moved his capital from Agra to Delhi after the death of his wife this mosque was designed and planned by Ustad Khalil. Which looks like Moti Masjid located in Agra. Sadhullah Khan was the Prime Minister during Shah Jahan’s rule and supervised the construction of the mosque. The mosque was inaugurated by Syed Abdul Ghafoor Shah Bukharil, an Imam from Uzbekistan. The mosque was confiscated with the intention of Vrindavas but later the British government had to retreat due to heavy protests. Jama Masjid is constructed in sandstone white Sangammar with three gateway towers and two minarets with an area of about 1200 square meters. This mosque is 40 meters high. It stands in peace facing the holy city of Muslims, Mecca, which people can see from far away, even from 5 kilometers away. It is so nice to see the mosque that people are impressed at first sight. It is built on a stone platform of great height which can be reached from three sides with the help of the East (35 stairs) North (39 stairs) and South (33 stairs). During the festival of Eid in Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk increases manifold in the month of Ramzan. Star food is served to everyone in the mosque during this time and many calls are made on the streets providing delicious sweet food. The best time to visit Delhi Jama Masjid is from October to March. During the summer the temperature of Delhi rises a lot, during the monsoon the temperature drops slightly, but the rains can hamper your sightseeing.
